What the Menu Description Leaves Out

Your camera gives each film simulation a one-line description, like the one for Reala Ace shown here. It’s a helpful start, but it won’t tell you which one suits a gray winter day or a portrait in warm evening light.

The course walks through each film simulation with example photos, and you’ll get a cheat sheet to keep handy when you’re out shooting.

Short Video Lessons

Three lessons, about an hour total, with example photos for each film simulation

Film Simulation Quiz

A short quiz to see which looks you can recognize

Film Simulation Cheat Sheet

A PDF you can save to your phone and check while you’re shooting

What you’ll learn

  • What makes Provia, Velvia, Classic Chrome, and Classic Neg look different
  • When softer options like Pro Neg Std and Eterna work well
  • How Acros and its color filters change a black-and-white photo
  • How to pick a film simulation based on the light and your subject

"The best material on Fuji film simulations that I am aware of - simply a cut above the rest."

Karsten Qvist
