MEET YOUR INSTRUCTOR

John Peltier

My aviation career began in the U.S. Air Force, where I flew F-15Es for nearly a decade - including 114 combat missions over Afghanistan - and later served as an instructor overseeing academic content for all F-15E training squadrons.

After transitioning to civilian life, I became a helicopter flight instructor and have since trained hundreds of students. Along the way, I developed a proven system to simplify the toughest parts of flight training, like airspace and weather, so anyone can learn them with confidence.

Today, I fly both manned and unmanned aircraft for projects ranging from documentary photography to mapping and serve as a Civil Air Patrol UAS Instructor Pilot. Teaching is in my DNA, and I’m excited to help you earn your Remote Pilot certificate.

Frequently Asked Questions

Need the training? No, not necessarily. But they do need an FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot certificate to fly for your company or organization, per U.S. regulations. There are exemptions for taxpayer-funded organizations, but these organizations usually require their pilots to be certified.

The FAA Remote Pilot test not only contains complex material, but the act of testing can also lead to failures due to how the questions are written.

This course is a no-nonsense training program to help them understand the material and know how to take the test.

Unfortunately, no, this course does not include the actual certification.

Your group must complete an in-person written test at an FAA-approved testing center (instructions are in the course).

This course will thoroughly prepare them to pass that test.
